Don’t Drop the Torch | Finishing Lights the Path for Others

Don’t Drop the Torch | Finishing Lights the Path for Others

Finishing isn’t about how fast you start, it’s about how strong you end. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 15:7, “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” That means God notices when you keep your grip on the torch and finish the work.

Without Christ, the race ends in darkness. Only in Him is the reward secure. Starting something good matters, but leaving it undone leaves others stumbling in the dark. Dropping the torch doesn’t just fail you—it affects the next runner.

Paul reminds us, and so does life, that God never leaves His work undone. He finishes what He starts. If the Lord doesn’t quit, why should you? Too many of us start habits, projects, or even spiritual commitments strong, but fade away when pressure comes. That’s not finishing—that’s abandoning what God designed you to do.

Finishing is about lighting the way for others. Your endurance becomes someone else’s encouragement. Quitting leaves them watching you drop the torch instead of seeing you shine the path. Pressure is proof you’re making progress. Endurance builds impact. Completion makes credibility. God crowns finishers, not starters.

Don’t miss this: your life is a torch. Your family, your church, your community—they’re watching. What kind of light are you showing them? Don’t let up. Don’t get satisfied with yesterday’s wins. Step forward, finish what’s in front of you, and let your work be rewarded.

Say it with me: “I am a finisher. My work will be rewarded.”

Run steady. Finish strong. Collect your crown.
