Hold What You Got | Resistance Confirms Your Assignment

Some days God tells us to move. Other days He tells us to stand. And the mistake many believers make is assuming that resistance means they missed God. But Scripture says something different. Ephesians 6:13 reminds us that after we’ve done all, the command is simple—stand. Not retreat. Not panic. Not reinvent. Stand.

Resistance doesn’t always mean you’re in the wrong place. Often it means you’re standing on ground that matters. Pressure has a way of making us question our position, our calling, even our obedience. We start thinking, “If this were God, it wouldn’t be this hard.” But that thought doesn’t come from wisdom. It comes from discomfort.

In the Christian life, not every battle is won by advancing. Some are won by holding what you’ve already been given. Faith isn’t always loud movement. Sometimes it’s quiet endurance. Sometimes obedience looks like staying planted when every emotion tells you to move just to escape the pressure.

In real life, unnecessary retreat causes more damage than the enemy ever could. The same is true spiritually. When you move without command, you weaken ground God was using to establish you. Standing builds authority. Endurance builds strength. Stability produces confidence.

If you feel pressure today, don’t assume you’re failing. Ask whether you’re being established. The armor of God isn’t just for attack—it’s for remaining. Some battles are loud. Others are won by staying unseen. Either way, don’t abandon ground too quickly.

Hold what you’ve been entrusted with. Let strength settle. Resistance often confirms assignment.
