Stay Teachable | Do Not Harden Your Heart
God does not throw away what is weak. He strengthens what does not harden. Isaiah reminds us that a bruised reed is not broken and a smoldering wick is not extinguished. That tells us something about how God works. Transformation does not begin with strength. It begins with softness that stays teachable.
Many people grow tired of feeling weak and respond by hardening their hearts. Scripture corrects that instinct. Tenderness is not failure. It is often the very place where God is doing His most precise work. When we assume growth should feel powerful, we mistake humility for deficiency and patience for delay. The truth is God works carefully where the heart remains open.
This matters because hardness interrupts transformation. People do not stop growing because God leaves. They stop because they close themselves off to correction, feedback, and truth. A hardened heart resists shaping. A teachable heart remains moldable. Like clay on the wheel, softness allows alignment before weight is added.
Mistakes play a role here as well. Error reveals where rigidity has entered. Correction restores responsiveness. Growth compounds when we stay present instead of restarting every time pressure exposes weakness. Transformation continues where honesty remains and defensiveness does not take over.
Faithfulness in this season looks simple. Stay open. Receive feedback without fighting it. Do not rush to appear strong. Precision outlasts speed. Alignment outlasts excitement. God finishes what stays responsive long enough to be shaped.
Today, stay teachable where pressure is present. Do not look away from the quiet work God is doing in you. Soft hearts grow strong when they remain under truth. Stay with what God is shaping, and let transformation do its work.
